Practice Description:
Mr. Murphy has experience in the defense of a wide variety of cases, including cases involving premises liability, automobile accidents, construction injuries, contract disputes, insurance coverage, the Illinois Dram Shop Act, wrongful death, products liability, property damage, and employment discrimination. Mr. Murphy spent his first five years with HeplerBroom in its Edwardsville, Illinois office, practicing in Madison and St. Clair Counties as well as in counties throughout Southern Illinois. In 2009, he joined the firm’s Central Illinois office in Springfield where, in addition to the above practice areas, he is engaged in defending present and former employees of the Illinois Department of Transportation in federal court cases in which violations of the United States Supreme Court case of Rutan vs. Republican Party of Illinois, 497 U.S. 62 (1990), are alleged. Mr. Murphy has also represented plaintiffs in cases involving breach of contract and subrogation, and currently represents the Illinois Department of Transportation in cases seeking recovery for property damage.
