Hammond Publishes Article for International Insurance Magazine
Partner Rick Hammond of the Chicago office has published an article in SIU Today, the quarterly publication of the International Association of Special Investigation Units.
In the article, Hammond describes a case in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit determined the extent to which an insurer is required to investigate whether an insured’s answers in an application for insurance are true and how failure to do so may waive the insurer’s right to rescind the policy. Hammond focuses his practice on insurance law. He is frequently called upon to be an expert witness on insurer bad faith and insurance law and coverage issues. He has been inducted into the American College of Coverage and Extra-Contractual Counsel, an organization comprised of preeminent coverage and extra-contractual counsel in the United States and Canada. He was previously selected by Lexis Nexis Insurance Law Center to receive its “Insurance Lawyer of the Year Award.”
