Melton Gets Favorable Defense Verdict in Pedestrian/Vehicle Case

Isaac Melton obtained a favorable defense verdict in a recent Cook County personal injury case. Plaintiff had asked for approximately $475,000. Instead, after 90 minutes of deliberations, the jury awarded the plaintiff $4,000. The claim involved a motor vehicle accident that happened as the parties were headed to a Steely Dan concert at Northerly Island. Plaintiff claimed injuries including an injury to her back, which eventually resulted in a fusion surgery.

Melton, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on first- and third-party insurance defense and insurance coverage cases, along with fraud and bad faith litigation. He also does extensive work counseling and representing insurers on issues involving medical fraud. Melton has been named a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers.
