Young and Jacobi to Present Insurance Continuing Education Seminar
|Michael Young||Katie Jacobi|
Michael Young and Katie Jacobi are two of the scheduled speakers at a day-long continuing legal education seminar on insurance coverage issues. Attorneys attending the April 26 seminar, which is sponsored by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), may either attend in person at the IICLE Professional Education Center in Springfield or online via a live webcast. Registration information is available here.
Young will offer sophisticated tips on responding to claims and preserving coverage defenses. He will discuss the options available to an insurer when presented with a potentially covered claim, what a reservation of rights letter looks like and what it contains, and the Illinois doctrine of estoppel.
Jacobi will discuss attorney-client and work-product privileges in insurance coverage litigation. Her session, which qualifies for 0.75 hour Professional Responsibility CLE, will emphasize the differences between state and federal cases, insurer and insured cases, and first- and third-party litigation.
Both Young and Jacobi focus their practices on insurance coverage law and bad faith litigation. Young, a partner, is based in the firm’s St. Louis office, while Jacobi, an associate, is headquartered in the Chicago office.
