Modeer and Sangiorgio-Hirth Elected to Office in Bar Association
Kathryn Modeer and Josephine Sangiorgio-Hirth are among the newly elected officers of the Women in the Legal Profession section (WILP) of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
Modeer, an associate in the Edwardsville office, is WILP’s new Chair-Elect. She is a litigation attorney with a primary emphasis on complex, multi-party civil cases and class actions. Sangiorgio-Hirth, an associate in the St. Louis office, is the association’s new Co-secretary. She focuses her practice on complex business litigation matters involving asbestos, toxic torts, products liability, premises liability, and personal injury.
WILP’s mission is to promote and enhance women lawyers professionally, personally, and within their community. As part of their community engagement, WILP offers scholarships to law students who do paid or unpaid summer internships at non-profits in the St. Louis metropolitan area that address legal issues affecting women (e.g., domestic violence, gender fairness, child custody, and similar issues). WILP also conducts an annual suit drive, donating gently-used men's and women's suits to assist economically disadvantaged men and women who are seeking employment.
