Rebecca Nickelson spoke recently on a panel for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) on the topic of “ISMs: Racism, Sexism, Ageism, Genderism – How Do We Move Forward?” Co-presenters included St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Judy Draper and Dana Tippen Culter, a past president of the Missouri Bar.
The panel told the audience about the impact of ISMs, including during childhood, at the office, in the courtroom, during depositions, and elsewhere. The panel also conveyed a call to action for the audience: do not be passive when you witness discrimination.
Nickelson, a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office, focuses her legal practice on the defense of asbestos and other toxic tort matters, including product and premises liability. She is the attorney coach for BAMSL’s annual Mock Trial Program, which, under her tutelage, has won four Missouri State Championships.
