Hepler Broom’s Abby Sgro is one of five finalists who received the most nominations for Best Attorney in Springfield (Illinois). The 2021 Best of Springfield poll is sponsored by the Illinois Times, and readers will be voting from Sept. 16-27 for their favorite among the finalists.

Sgro, an associate attorney in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on a variety of complex litigation areas, including the defense of nursing home and corporate and business matters, as well as estate planning and administration. She is also experienced in handling state and federal criminal matters, criminal appeals, and business and corporation formation, and provides general business advice for a variety of local businesses. In 2019 she was named a Woman of Influence by the Springfield Business Journal and Security Bank. She is also a past recipient of the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award, and has been named an Emerging Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media’s Illinois Leading Lawyers. In addition to her legal practice, Sgro is active in pro bono legal work and volunteer efforts in the Springfield community.
