Former JAG Prosecutor and Federal Clerk Joins HeplerBroom
Thomas A. Haine has joined HeplerBroom as an associate in its Edwardsville office. Haine focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, with a special emphasis on internal investigations, class actions, and appeals. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, he served as a Law Clerk for Judge Raymond W. Gruender on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has also served as a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps, where he was a military prosecutor at Fort Drum, New York, and Fort Meade, Maryland. In addition, he served as special assistant U.S. attorney in upstate New York and Baltimore, Maryland. He continues to serve as a Captain in the U.S. Army Individual Ready Reserve.
Haine obtained his J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2011. While in law school, he was a staff editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He also holds an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from Catolica Global School of Law in Lisbon, Portugal, and a B.A. in History from Princeton University. He is licensed in Illinois and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
