Hammond to be Keynote Speaker at Michigan
Special Investigation Unit Seminar
Rick Hammond is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Fall Seminar of the Michigan chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units. The theme for this year’s seminar, which will be held on Oct. 17 at the Schoolcraft College Vista Tech Center in Livonia, Michigan, is “2020 – Preparing for the Future of Fraud.” Many of the classes will focus around the influences of technology on the insurance industry, as well as on the new Michigan insurance reform legislation. Hammond, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on matters relating to property insurance coverage, fire and explosion cases, and bad faith. He also serves as an expert witness on insurer bad faith and as an adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at Loyola University Chicago Law School. In addition, he is a member of Loyola University Chicago’s Board of Trustees and Past President of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.
