Barton Joins HeplerBroom as Associate Attorney
HeplerBroom is pleased to announce that Elizabeth K. Barton has joined the firm as an associate attorney in its Chicago office. Barton focuses her practice on municipal, employment & labor, and insurance law, with a particular emphasis on defending government entities and employees in civil rights and employment litigation. Her clients have included police officers, school districts, park districts, public works departments, local government administrators, small businesses, and corporations.
She is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit as well as the United States District Courts of the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. Barton is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and Defense Research Institute. She is on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and was named a Rising Star by that organization in 2016.
In 2008, she graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where she was an editor of The John Marshall Law Review. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management and Organizations from the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie College of Business.
