Martin Publishes Article on PFAS Regulations

HeplerBroom attorney
Jennifer Martin

Jennifer Martin recently published an article discussing the current legislative and regulatory environment regarding exposures to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The article explains recent actions by Illinois EPA to address PFAS in groundwater and drinking water, and discusses the status of USEPA’s PFAS Action Plan. The article also notes significant PFAS litigation matters pending in Ohio and South Carolina. Martin suggests that manufacturers (and others who handle PFAS) would be well advised to prepare for future legislation and regulation addressing PFAS. The full article, which was published in The Illinois Manufacturer, can be read here.

Martin, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on environmental law and real estate. Prior to entering private practice, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Control Division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. She is listed as an Illinois Leading Lawyer and speaks and writes regularly on environmental law. Martin is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois.
