Practice Description


Elizabeth K. Barton handles complex litigation matters with a particular emphasis on defending local government entities and employees in actions related to civil rights under the U. S. Constitution and 42 U.S.C. § 1983, reverse convictions, police and prosecutorial misconduct, prisoner litigation, and employment issues such as First Amendment retaliation, Title VII, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Her clients include police officers, school districts, park districts, public works departments, local government administrators, small businesses, and corporations. Ms. Barton also represents clients in a variety of insurance coverage matters.
