Messina and Murphy in Leadership Roles for Bar Association Environmental Program

Alec Messina will be a featured speaker at the Illinois State Bar Association’s 20th Annual Environmental Law CLE Conference. Messina will be discussing environmental justice. More information about this two-day webcast is available here (for the May 12 program) and here (for the May 13 program). The event is presented by the ISBA Environmental Law Section Council, of which Michael Murphy is a member.

Both Messina and Murphy are partners in HeplerBroom’s Springfield office, and both are part of the firm’s environmental law team. In addition to environmental law, Messina spearheads the firm’s Government Affairs practice group. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, he served as Director of the Illinois EPA. Previously, he was the Illinois Governor’s Policy Adviser on Energy and Environment. Murphy is an experienced litigator who defends clients in state-initiated enforcement actions and citizen lawsuits claiming injuries from environmental contamination. He has been named both an Emerging Lawyer by Illinois Leading Lawyers and an Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.
