Messina and Martin to Discuss Environmental Hot Topics at Chemical Industry Seminar

Alec Messina and Jennifer Martin will be among the featured speakers at the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois’ upcoming Hot Topics Seminar on environmental issues. Messina will discuss the types of issues that can shut a facility down, while Martin will be reviewing the SPCC (spill prevention control and countermeasure) Rule. Messina, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, spearheads the firm’s Government Affairs practice group and is also a member of its Environmental Law practice group. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, he served as Director of the Illinois EPA and was previously Executive Director of the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group.

Martin, also a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, focuses her practice on environmental law and real estate. Prior to entering private practice, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Control Division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. She is listed as an Illinois Leading Lawyer and speaks and writes regularly on environmental law. Martin is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois.
