Murphy and Brown Discuss Microplastics and PFAS Compliance at Environmental Industry’s Water Seminar

Michael Murphy and Melissa Brown will be among the featured participants at the Illinois Environmental Regulatory Group’s (IERG) 2025 Water Seminar. Murphy and his co-presenter, a senior scientist at Geosyntec, will examine the regulatory challenges microplastics present and propose strategies and potential solutions to those challenges. Brown will moderate a panel of experienced PFAS attorneys and consultants who will focus on PFAS regulatory compliance issues. Murphy, a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, is an experienced litigator who focuses on helping clients with environmental issues, both before and after a lawsuit is filed. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters, has been elected to the Board of Directors of both the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois and the Chatham (IL) Area Chamber of Commerce, and is Vice-Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Environmental and Natural Resource Law Section Council.
Brown, also a partner in the firm’s Springfield office, has developed a robust environmental law practice.
