HeplerBroom Adds Two Associate Attorneys

Sarah B. Jansen and Kathryn M. Winkler have joined HeplerBroom as its newest associate attorneys.

Jansen, who is based in the firm’s Crystal Lake office, focuses her practice on construction contracts, commercial general liability coverage, and risk transfer matters. She also handles complex civil litigation, including construction injury and defect litigation. She serves as assistant outside counsel for a large multi-state commercial construction company and as assistant National Coordinating and Oversight Counsel for general liability claims for subsidiaries of a Fortune 500 company. Jansen is a 2000 cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, she was an associate at firms in Illinois and Wisconsin, where she focused on construction and commercial litigation. She is also a former Assistant State’s Attorney for the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Winkler, who is based in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses her practice on insurance defense and coverage disputes. She is a 2011 magna cum laude graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, where she was articles editor for the St. Thomas Law Review. Prior to joining HeplerBroom, she practiced with several defense firms in Florida. Previously, she served as an intern to United States Magistrate the Honorable Robin S. Rosenbaum. She was also a certified legal intern in the Miami Dade County Public Defender’s Office.
