Edwardsville Office Combines Fun and Philanthropy

Once again, HeplerBroom employees combined the opportunity to have fun while simultaneously helping those in need. (In this case “fun” was defined as earning the right to throw a pie in a colleague’s face!)

Staff in the Edwardsville (Illinois) office were randomly divided into three teams, who then waged a Penny Wars campaign. The teams competed to fill their own jars with the most coins while sabotaging their rivals by adding bills to their rival’s jars. The team with the most points sacrificed their team captain to the Pie Executioner, who was determined by silent auction.

Through their efforts, the team raised nearly $1,100, which was donated to the Good Samaritan House in nearby Granite City. (Good Samaritan is an emergency shelter that focuses on helping unhoused mothers and children in the St. Louis Metro East area. If you’d like to join our efforts to help, consider donating to Good Samaritan house through this link.]
