The Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC) filed an amicus brief supporting an appellee in a dispute concerning the conversion of a respondent in discovery to a defendant under Section 2-402 of the Code of Civil Procedure. The trial court had denied the motion to convert and the appellate panel affirmed. HeplerBroom’s Robert Elworth drafted the amicus brief on behalf of IDC. (The amicus brief can be read here.)

Elworth, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on the defense of complex liability claims, including insurance producer and insurance coverage litigation, commercial litigation, and appellate practice. He has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media.
