Duchateau Publishes Article on Replacement Cost Coverage and Aesthetic Mismatches

James DuChateau has co-authored an article discussing court interpretations of an insurance company’s replacement cost obligations. The article, published in IDC Quarterly, specifically examines cases where there is only partial structural damage and accompanying mismatched aesthetics in replacement materials. DuChateau, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest and Mountain West. His practice also includes the representation of financial institution clients in both UCC and REO matters, as well as trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation. DuChateau is currently the editor-in-chief of IDC Quarterly, the journal of the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel, and also serves on the organization’s board of directors. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer and an Emerging Lawyer by Illinois Leading Lawyers. He has previously been honored as the Legal Assistance Foundation’s Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year and as Volunteer of the Year for the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.
