The St. Louis City Circuit Court recently entered judgment in favor of a HeplerBroom client, a major manufacturer of baby powder. The three-week talcum powder trial ended with a full defense verdict for HeplerBroom’s client. The Plaintiff in the case had claimed her use of baby powder caused her to develop ovarian cancer. She had asked for hundreds of millions of dollars in compensatory and punitive damages. HeplerBroom’s defense team was headed by Beth Bauer, a partner in the firm’s Edwardsville office, and Elizabeth Kellett, a partner in the St. Louis office.
