Tony Tunney and Robert Elworth Obtained Order Entering JNOV in Agent's Favor

On March 30, 2016, the Illinois Supreme Court declined to review plaintiff’s appeal of Office Furnishings v A.F. Crissie & Co., 2015 IL App (1st) 141724.  Although a May 2014, jury trial resulted in a $467,000 verdict for plaintiff against his insurance agent, Tony Tunney and Robert Elworth obtained an order entering JNOV in the agent’s favor. The Illinois Appellate Court rejected plaintiff’s appeal and motion for rehearing, affirming that the agent did not owe the duty alleged. More good law for Illinois insurance producers.
