Elworth Secures Summary Judgment in Premises Liability Case

Robert Elworth has obtained a summary judgment in a recent City of Waukegan case. Plaintiff in the case alleged he was injured when his foot got stuck in a street drainage grate on the Genesee Bridge in Waukegan. Elworth argued that the statute of repose barred the plaintiff’s claims and narrowed the issues so the court could focus on the key element of the City’s “participation” in the initial construction.

Elworth, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on the defense of insurance producer and insurance coverage litigation, as well as critical motions and appellate practice. He has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media.
