After a three-week trial, where the two plaintiffs had asked for awards of between $2.3 and $3 million apiece, the jury in a Macoupin County premises liability trial awarded them only $40,000 each. In addition, only 30% of that fault was attributed to HeplerBroom’s client. The case involved a 2014 carbon monoxide leak of a hot water boiler at a middle school.

Koepke, an attorney of counsel in the firm’s Springfield office, is a litigation attorney known for his no-nonsense approach to litigation. He has tried over 150 jury trials to verdict. Additionally, many of his cases have proceeded to the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts establishing extensive legal precedent.
