Fowler Inducted into Prestigious Trial Lawyers Association

On October 11, Meg Fowler was inducted into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) at its annual meeting, which was held in Washington, D.C.
The College is an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers from the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience before being considered for Fellowship. Each nominee undergoes a year-long investigation that includes interviews of opposing attorneys and judges about the nominee’s trial skills and, more importantly, ethics. After reviewing the results, active Missouri members voted on Fowler’s suitability. After the State Committee approved her nomination, the National Committee confirmed it. Membership is limited to no more than 1% of the total lawyer population of a nominee’s state or province. In addition to Fowler, HeplerBroom has three other attorneys who are members of this prestigious organization: Larry Hepler, Gordon Broom, and Thomas Magee.
ACTL maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on important legal issues relating to its mission. It strongly supports the independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings.
Fowler, a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office, focuses her practice on trials involving multiple issues, including the defense of personal injury, product liability, insurance coverage, professional liability, and transportation matters. Before starting her career as a trial attorney, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Paul Simon of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. She has been named to the lists of Best Lawyers in America and Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers. Fowler earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University in 2002 and holds a B.S. in Psychology from Marquette University. She is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois and is admitted to the bars of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois.
