8th Circuit Bar Fall Newsletter Features 3 HB Attorneys

Partner Glenn E. Davis and associate attorney Michael E. Harriss (both of the St. Louis office) each have an article published in a recent issue of the Bar Association of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. The newsletter’s Editor, Benjamin J. Wilson, is also in the firm’s St. Louis office.

Davis’ article highlights the history and work of the prestigious Judicial Learning Center at the U. S. Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis. The Center, first of its kind in the country, serves as a model for other courts trying to establish similar education and outreach centers and has received national recognition for its innovative programs. (Davis is President of the Center’s Board of Directors.) The full article can be read here.

Harriss’ article focuses on the impact of the 2015 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The article analyzes whether the bench and the bar have treated the changes to Rule 26(b)(1) as a “big deal” marking a “significant change” in our practice, or whether those changes have been treated as a mere shifting of words.
