Environmental Law

HeplerBroom’s Environmental Practice Group helps its clients stay on top of an increasingly complex maze of environmental laws and regulations. Our broad range of environmental services include all phases of air, land, and water issues, and we use our comprehensive experience to assist clients in a variety of complex environmental and worker safety matters.

Our team’s first step is to gain a thorough understanding of each client’s situation. Next, we help the client develop goals for resolving any issues it faces, and then we apply our experience, skill, and creativity to help the client reach those goals.

Our clients include:

  • small and large industrial companies
  • utilities
  • agricultural cooperatives
  • municipalities
  • individuals
  • property developers
  • lenders
  • business associations

We work closely with clients to determine what local, state, and federal regulatory requirements impact their businesses and to assess their compliance options. HeplerBroom’s regulatory and litigation attorneys work together to devise strategies for dealing with potential noncompliance situations, whether they’re at the local, state, or national level. We also provide vigorous advocacy in enforcement defense, permit appeals, and proceedings for regulatory relief.

We represent clients in compliance counseling and regulatory matters, as well as in litigation before state and federal courts and agencies. We also work closely with facilities, consultants, and regulators to negotiate appropriate permit provisions and defend or challenge permits and permit conditions when necessary.

Our attorneys conduct compliance assessments, plan for new regulations, prepare stakeholder comments in rulemaking proceedings, and assist in compliance audits for all environmental media and workplace safety issues.
